A bacteriophage (or simply phage) is a microscopic protein that reacts with specific bacteria in your gut, creating Prebiotics - food for PRObiotics. Prebiotics enable any existing good bacteria to flourish abundantly, to maintain your optimal digestive and immune health.

Phages are everywhere - in our food, the water we drink, on and inside our bodies. Floraphage Supports Normal Urinary Tract Health

Did you know that most Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) are caused by specific bacteria that we consume in our food every day? Many people are plagued by chronic UTIs, but contrary to popular belief, this common problem is not due to bad habits or poor hygiene. When you consume food that contains certain types of unwanted bacteria, your body is able to flush out these bacteria through the urinary tract, which sometimes causes uncomfortable symptoms. Floraphage supports comfortable urinary tract function.

Floraphage Efficacy Testing and Results

To determine whether Floraphage works, especially when combined with probiotic products, we conducted several laboratory tests. Floraphage was tested in conjunction with four popular probiotic supplements to determine its ability to increase the potency or growth of each respective product.

Each product was grown in a nutrient-rich broth to mimic normal digestive conditions, until each product's bacteria reached a specified value using optical density (OD). OD measures the amount of light that is able to scatter through a mixture, which was used to verify that the bacteria for each product had started to grow.

Once each product reached an OD of .2 (indicating that the bacteria were growing and no longer dormant), a one milliliter sampling of each product was grown with Floraphage and one was grown without (control group). Each of the four tested products showed improvement when grown with Floraphage.

The average increase in colony forming unit (CFU) activity (measurement of probiotic bacteria growth) for the four products was 2,400% versus the control group (without Floraphage). Overall, Floraphage was able to increase the growth rate of supplemented probiotics by an average of 24 times compared with the control group.

These results show that Floraphage is an excellent product to take in conjunction with a probiotic to maximize the benefits of supplemented beneficial bacteria. It's also helpful for those who don't take probiotics in order to maximize indigenous probiotic growth.

When taken alone (or with a probiotic), the following bacteria showed significant growth when combined with Floraphage, compared to growth without Floraphage:

Directions for Use

Take alone, or in combination with a probiotic.

Take 1 to 2 capsules daily with eight ounces of water, or as directed by your healthcare provider.

Floraphage can be taken at any time, with or without food. Phages are not nearly as susceptible to acid and temperature changes as probiotic organisms. Based on this fact, we recommend taking the product whenever it's most convenient for you.

How long does it take for Floraphage to work? 
Everybody is different, but according to in vitro testing, Floraphage should start working within hours of the first dose. However, benefits that can be "felt" will likely take anywhere from three to four weeks. Some may experience immediate benefits, while others may take longer, but its value to one's health is far-reaching from its onset of use.

With or Without Antibiotic Use?
Some doctors feel it is best to wait until an antibiotic regimen is over before taking a probiotic supplement, however there is no evidence that probiotic supplementation will negatively impact the efficacy of antibiotics. Other doctors encourage patients to take probiotics while on antibiotics. Contact your healthcare provider for their direction.
