Directions for Use

All you need to do is add some Recovery FX powder to water or juice and drink up. Or try the vegetarian capsules. The absorption of the powder formulation is more rapid than the absorption of the capsules. Further absorption occurs in the stomach and the intestinal track.

Powder form: 1 teaspoon twice daily or as directed by a health practitioner. Powder form should be gradually increased in dose over a two week period (starting with 1/4 tsp per day and increasing dose by 1/4 tsp every 3 days until desired dose is achieved)

Suggested use for children 12 and under (powder form): Introduce gradually over a two week period to a concentrated dose of 1/2 teaspoon per 20 lobs body weight. Mix with food, water or diluted juice. After 30 - 60 days it may be possible to reduce intake to 1/4 teaspoon per 20lbs body weight.

Recovery Veg Capsules:
Take 5 capsules, 2 times a day, or as directed by a health practitioner.
One 360 capsule bottle of Recovery will last 36 days, at a dose of 10 capsules per day.

Recovery FX Powder:
Take one teaspoon Recovery FX Powder in pure, energized water or diluted juice, 2 times a day, or as directed by a health practitioner. Difficult cases may require up to 3 teaspoons per day.
Many people begin at a lower dose (1/4 teaspoon 2 times per day) and slowly work up the dosage over a two week period, as effective dosage varies and may be at the lower end of the spectrum (e.g. 1 teaspoon per day total) and would therefore be more cost effective.
One 350g container of Recovery FX will last approximately 44 days, at a dose of 2 teaspoons per day.

Recovery and Recovery FX Ingredients

The primary active ingredient in Recovery is Nutricol: a potent proprietary bioflavonoid mixture of of proven ingredients purified from grapes and tea (consisting of EGCG, theaflavin, proanthocyanidins and resveratrol), in a base of vitamin C and fructo-oligosaccharides (watersoluble fiber).

Nutricol

Nutricol (proprietary combination of grape & green tea) is the key to the success of Recovery FX. Nutricol improves the delivery of building blocks required for repair & maintenance of joint tissues, skin, blood vessels, cartilage, bone, ligaments, tendons, menisci and synovium. Also helps to halt damage to joint structures, damage that often leads to swelling, spasm, pain and loss of mobility.

Methyl sulfonyl methane (MSM)

MSM is a naturally occurring ideal form of dietary Sulfur found in Nature. Natural sulfur is essential for repair of the joint and related tissues.

MSM has very low toxicity, with an LD50 in rats that exceeds 20,000 mg/kg body weight per day. In dogs, no toxicity was reported in a 30-day test receiving 3,000 mg/kg body weight per day, administered both orally and intravenously. There was a drop in hematocrit in the later stages of the high dose intravenous study that returned to normal post-treatment. (Metcalf, J.W. (1986) MSM status report, Eq. Vet. Data 7:332-334).

Glucosamine hydrochloride

Glucosamine is a natural building block of joint structures produced in our bodies that acts to maintain proper joint repair and fluidity.

No mortalities in mice or rats at very high levels. LD50 is greater than 5,000 mg/kg of body weight orally. (Pharmatherapeutica 1982; 3(3): 157-68) Theoretically, long-term use of very high-doses of glucosamine may result in hyperglycemia.

*Recovery has demonstrated hypoglycemic effects. Nutricol increases membrane insulin sensitivity. Biomedica recommends that Recovery is safe to administer to stable Type II diabetics.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is an absolutely essential vitamin that is not produced by humans and therefore is termed essential meaning we must derive it from dietary sources. Vitamin C is essential to the production of collagen which is a key component of all joint tissues.

Trimethylglycine hydrochloride (TMG)

DMG and TMG are modified amino acids produced within our bodies that are essential for energy production and immune response. They are used to decrease lactic acid (lactic acid causes cramping and slows repair).

Acute and chronic safety studies show DMG to be very safe, with an acute LD50 in rats of 7,000 mg/kg body weight, equivalent to approximately 500 grams in humans. (Braverman, Pfeiffer, The Healing Nutrients Within, Keats, 1987:251). A question of safety arose when a positive mutagenic response for DMG was reported under nitrosation conditions with sodium nitrite (Herbert et al., 1980). Made famous in mind-boosting pills, sex nutrients, and anti-aging products, DMG (dimethylglycine) is used as methyl donor, defined as a substance that can transfer a methyl group [a carbon atom attached to three hydrogen atoms (CH3)] to another substance.

Methylation is a biochemical process that is essential to life, health, and regeneration of body cells. Vitamins, hormones, neurotransmitters, enzymes, nucleic acids (DNA and RNA), and antibodies depend on the transfer of methyl groups to complete their synthesis. Scientific research suggests that proper methylation of DNA may protect you from harmful mutations including cancer. Effective methylation is associated with youthful body function.

DMG appeared as a supplement in the 1960s under the names vitamin B15, pangamic acid and calcium pangamate.

TMG trimethylglycine (Betaine) is a quarternary ammonium compound that was first discovered in the juice of sugar beets and is metabolite of choline, a substrate in one of the two recycling pathways that convert homocysteine to L-methionine. Betaine may lower elevated homocysteine levels in some. Betaine may also have lipotropic and hepatoprotective activity. Betaine hydrochloride is a delivery form of hydrochloric acid and may aid in digestion in some.

Trimethylglycine TMG (also known as betaine), and Dimethylglycine DMG, are methyl donors that help in the production of several brain chemicals and hence improve mood, energy, wellbeing, alertness, concentration, and visual clarity. used in the conversion of homocysteine to methionine. Maintaining normal homocysteine levels is important for the health of the cardiovascular system. TMG has been shown to help protect the liver and raise S-adenosylmethionine (SAM-e) levels.

EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate)

Epigallocatechin gallate is protecting your cells from free radical caused oxidative damage that is associated with chronic disease including cancer, arthritis, arteriosclerosis, heart diseases and accelerated aging. Epigallocatechin gallate interferes with many enzyme systems: it inhibits fast-binding and reversible fatty acid synthase, increases tyrosine phosphorylation of the insulin receptor, activation of ornithine decarboxylase. Epigallocatechin gallate can protect the DNA in the human cells from ultraviolet and visible radiation-induced damage. Epigallocatechin gallate may also be effective in promoting fat oxidation and lowering body weight.

The LD50 in male rats is greater than 5,000 mg/kg and 3,090 mg/ kg in female rats. The rats were Sprauge-Dawley rats (Yamane et al. (1995) Cancer 7:1662-7). Found to be non-toxic for Rodents and Humans (Fujiki et al. 1998).

Resveratrol, Procyanidolic oligomers
