The Five Building Blocks of Good Health

In the course of my next few blog posts, I’d like to talk about the different elements that one should be aware in order to strong and healthy. I tend to think of health and nutrition as being made up of five essential elements. These elements are enzymes, minerals, carbohydrates, proteins and water.

If you read this blog, you probably know about Excela-50, one of our finest and most popular superfoods. If you don’t, it is a product that really stands out for me, not least because it offers plenty of enzymes. Excela-50 is specially manufactured so that the enzymes are not destroyed the way they are in so many of the foods we buy at the supermarket these days.

This is true of all our products. Preservation is often a mixed blessing because it can make a product less “alive” and less digestible. The upside is that the product will not go bad, but the reason for this is that you’ve actually removed the organic living parts of the product that will deteriorate, leaving behind the parts with less nutritional value. Fortunately, at the Life Enthusiast Co-op we are aware of this dilemma and have found two different methods that allow us to preserve our products without compromising their nutritional value in the slightest. Nothing gets lost in transit!

Everyone needs to have good supply of minerals in their bodies. Both major minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, and phosphorus, and also the lesser known minerals called trace minerals, are vitally important to healthy nourishment of the body.

Chromium, molybdenum, germanium, copper and zinc all appear as trace minerals. When you give the body sufficient quantities of these essential trace minerals, the electrolyte, the medium inside each individual cell, is enhanced. It starts functioning properly and when that happens the actually voltage in the cell shoots right up. This is a very common problem with most people. They have low battery power in all their cells. If you have well-functioning electrolytes, the battery works at full power.

Controlling the quality of the electrolyte in the human body is like controlling the dimmer switch on the dining room light. We want that light as bright as possible, and the minerals we ingest help us do that.
