Strata Flora (Pt. 2)

Our intestines are filled with large amounts of bacteria that must maintain a delicate balance so as to not damage the villi that allow us to absorb the nutrients of the foods we eat.

When this equilibrium is upset, our flora can become dysfunctional and damage the intestinal walls. This is commonly called dysbiosis, and it most commonly manifests itself through the bloating, irregular bowel movements, excess gas. Sometimes you get both diarrhea and constipation.

And when your villi allow under-digested food to pass through the barrier, auto-immune disorders are not too far behind.
