Chromium

An extremely vital trace mineral that many people ignore in their diet is chromium. This element is totally underappreciated in the health world. This is mostly because no one acknowledges that the soils in North America are extremely low in chromium and have been for some time.

Chromium is broadly involved in our body’s metabolism and how our body handles carbohydrates= sugars and starches. Basically, it is involved with metabolizing foods high on the glycemic index.

Refined sugar that is found in most of the common consumer foods out there today is, of course, terrible for you and really one of the worst things you can put in your body. And if you are deficient in chromium you will have terrible time metabolizing it. After a number of years of this lifestyle you will develop insulin resitivity, and a host of chronic health problems.
