The State of our Health
I have two friends both of whom have knee problems. They are not very old, both between 30 and 40 years old. This is a trend that I see happening to peoples’ health today, whereas if you lived on a farm back in 1890s I don’t think you would be having this problem.
These days we are living longer, but we are also getting “older” sooner. I look around and I see more and more people spending more time being miserable than ever before.
Believe it or not, I used to be one of these people. I had a raging inflammation throughout my body, I had fibromyalgia. Thankfully that is all behind me now.
Some people will avoid these sorts of problems due an abnormally strong immune system or a naturally resistant metabolism, but I was not one of them. I suffered from poor health and a weak immune system from the beginning. I remember being seven years old and getting hives from eating strawberries. As a 25 year old, I got mercury poisoning from amalgam fillings which completely knocked me out. By the time I was 35 I was a wreck in terms of health.
My pain and my subsequent recovery is the reason I decided to the start Life Enthusiast Co-Op. I wanted to ensure that people with genetic predisposition like me, who are told by their doctors that “it is just in your head, take an anti-depressant”, or whose partner is starting to accuse them of being a hypochondriac, can find a resource that will help them understand what is going on, and guide them on a path to pain free, and even joy filled days.
